Community councils are elected every three years to find out, co-ordinate and express the views of local people to the council and other public organisations working in the area. Although they have no direct powers, they have a clear role in consultation. For example, Fife Council must consult community councils on planning applications.
Nomination forms are now available for local people who would like to be a member of the Newport, Wormit and Forgan Community Council. These need to be submitted by 16 September.
