The American award-winning author and journalist Robert Whitaker will present a lecture in Elmwood College in Cupar on Saturday 19th November at 1.00pm. Bob Whitaker has won numerous awards as a biographer and journalist covering medicine and science, including a Pulitzer Prize nomination. His highly acclaimed book 'Mad In America' was named by Discover Magazine as one of the best science books of 2002 and the American Library Association named it one of the best history books of the year. His most recent book 'Anatomy of an Epidemic' won the Investigative Reporters and Editors 2010 award for ‘best investigative journalism’. The Whitaker Lecture, is being hosted by Peer Support Fife and will address the moral issues involved in the use of psychiatric drugs. This talk will be aimed at a general audience and is relevant to everyone with an interest in mental health. Free places are still available.
